Essence and structure of the concept “National self-awareness of students in universities of life sciences”

Abstract

The article examines existing approaches to defining the concept of national self-awareness, reveals the structure of national self-awareness, defines the  main functions of national self-awareness of an individual in relation to the state and society; analyzed the peculiarities of the formation of national self-awareness of students of universities of life sciences in terms of youth awareness of their cultural heritage and values, including language and culture, as well as a sense of responsibility for the future of Ukraine, the development of patriotism, increasing national dignity, a sense of inner freedom and pride for the native land.Some aspects of the problem of national selfawareness as a personality characteristic in Ukrainian science have been studied. Philosophical discourse on the problem of national self-identity, which covers the works of Western researchers of the second half of the 20th century, such as M. Heidegger, H. Kershensteiner, Y.G. Pestalozzi, K. Jung, J. Lacan, E. Erikson, J. M. Benoit, and it is also important to review the radical concepts of postmodernist philosophers with a positive orientation, including the works of such authors as Michel Foucault, Roland Barthes, Felix Guattari, Jean-Francois Lyotard, Gilles Deleuze, Julia Kristeva, Jean Baudrillard, Jacques Derrida and others. The definition of the concept of national self-awareness of students of universities of life sciences was formed."
