Abstract

The historical and philosophical connotations of the problem of freedom are studied within the classical paradigm of philosophizing. The phenomenon of freedom is broad and complex. Freedom is defined as a condition for the realization of human and civil rights. However, the ways of solving the problem of freedom are sometimes extremely opposite. The authors study freedom as an idea and value, as a legal norm and an ethical principle, as a social reality and a characteristic of the practical life of society and an individual
