Stanislav Nikolaienko

Biography

Stanislav Nikolaienko was born on February 9, 1956, in the village of Bohdanivka, Znamianka district, Kirovohrad region. He graduated from the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy with a degree in mechanical engineering (1978) and engineering education (1980). In 1991, he completed his studies at the Odesa Institute of Political Science and Sociology. His professional career began as a lecturer at the Kirovohrad Agricultural Technical School. After receiving his pedagogical education, he taught animal husbandry mechanisation at the Kakhovka State Farm Technical School (now – Kakhovka Agrotechnological Applied College). He later headed the Krasnoperekopsk Vocational School. From 1991 to 1994, Stanislav Nikolaienko served as a Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Department of Education and an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Mechanisation at the Kherson Agricultural Institute.

Stanislav Nikolaienko served as a People's Deputy of Ukraine in several convocations, chaired the Committee on Science and Education of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and from 2005 to 2007, was the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine. He also chaired the Public Council of Ukrainian Educators and Scientists and the Association of Higher Agricultural Educational Institutions. Stanislav Nikolaienko is the author of several laws, particularly concerning the introduction of a unified fixed tax in agriculture, land reclamation, and the preservation and development of vocational and higher education. He has made significant contributions to the social protection of teachers, researchers, and students.

Stanislav Nikolaienko is the author of 13 books, more than 150 scientific publications, 14 of which have been published in journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. Since 2009 he had been working as a Professor in the Department of Higher Education and Law at the University of Educational Management of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. From August 29, 2014, to June 14, 2024, he was the Rector of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NULES).
